Everyone deserves to be Beautiful!

“Beauty is skin-deep! It’s an old cliché, right? But it’s true.  We should not only see beauty on the physical aspect of a person but we have to see beauty on the innermost being of a person.  As what the book The Little Prince by Antoine de St. Exupery tells us: ‘What is essential is invisible to the naked eye.’  So I believe that good character and great personality are the true measurements of beauty, not merely the physical alone.”  Well, that was my answer when the host asked me the question: What is my concept of Beauty during the grand coronation night of Bb. Ikatlong-Lahi Universe 2006(Miss Gay-Universe 2006).

Honestly speaking, it won’t hurt if we’ll take good care of our physical body because as they say, Health is Wealth.  Though some would say Beauty has a price but for me that line belongs only to super-rich individuals who can afford expensive treatments, people who are not contented with their looks and willing to undergo surgeries and those who don’t have anything to do with their selves and spending lots of money would not a problem.  I am a great appreciator of beauty and I know that I can be physically attractive without spending big bucks.  Just to warn you: I’M NOT AN EXPERT but I’ve tried it and it’s effective.  So, here are some of my cheapest beauty tips:

1.    Drink lots of water.  At least 8 glasses of water a day.  If it’s summer, try 10-12 glasses.  It’s a natural moisturizer; it helps hydrate your skin.

2.    During bath time, use bathsoap(based on your skin type).  For me, I only use bodywash when partnered by a scrubber.  Using bodywash alone will not help clean the dirt on your body.

3.    If you have money, try to buy body lotion(based on your skin type).  It will nourish skin, believe me.

4.    Most commercially-made lotions(if not all) cannot whiten skin.  IT CAN ONLY LIGHTEN SKIN.  There’s a big difference between whiten and lighten.  If you want to be like Snow White, go directly to a licensed Dermatologist.

5.    Avoid the sun between 10am-3pm.  The ultraviolet rays can damage your skin.  It can cause pre-mature aging.  So, try to apply sunblock especially going to the beach.

6.    If your skin is super dry, use Petroleum Jelly(any brand you want).  Just put small amount on your skin and rub gently.

7.    For dark elbows/knees, use Calamansi(rub it gently on affected areas).  Use it everyday during bath time.  It will take longer to have good results but worth it.

8.    Your face is very sensitive.  So it is not advisable to peel-off.  PLEASE DON’T BELIEVE IN ADVERTISEMENTS that says: ‘Peeling-off is the best way to get rid of dead skin.  You can get rid of your dead skin by using facial wash with mini scrubs(use it at least twice a week) or get sugar from the kitchen, mix it with a honey or some clean oil and rub very gently on your face(do it twice a month).  It’s natural and very relaxing.

9.    If you experience break-outs(having pimples/acnes), wash your face with a clean soap and pat dry.  After, you can use Panoxyl(available in all leading drugstores) and it’s cheap.  Don’t touch the affected areas with your hand.  IMPORTANT: If symptoms persist, consult your Doctor.

10.THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Please don’t prick your pimples/acnes if you don’t want to become a monster in the future.

11.Face Moisturizer is a must.  Try to buy one based on your skin type and needs.  Products from PONDS are really good, cheap and made for asian skin.

12.For those people who lived in the city, you’re exposed to pollution.  It’s a must to use Facial Cleanser(preferably mild ones).  You can also try to buy a Toner to be partnered by your facial cleanser.  It helps to minimize your pores.

13.For Tired Eyes/Eyebags, just put a slice of cucumber on each eye.

14.You can use egg white for the face, it will serve as a mask and it tightens skin.

15.Wash your face at least twice a day.  Morning and before going to sleep.

16.If you’re a person who always put make-up, please remove it before going to sleep.  It’s a big NO-NO to sleep with your make-up on because your skin can’t breathe.  So, it’s the main cause of pre-mature aging and acnes.  REMEMBER: change/update your make-up twice a year.

17.Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.  Cut down on fatty foods.  Fruit juices are very good on skin especially orange and carrot juice.

18.If you can avoid it, don’t smoke.  It can dry your skin.

19.Don’t drink hard liquor.  If you can’t control it, just drink moderately.

20.No to illegal drugs(soft/hard).  It will definitely destroy not only your body but also your soul.

21.Sleep at least 8 hours a day or you can take a nap during break-time.

22.Avoid eating too much junk food.

23.If you have extra money, try to buy multi-vitamins that would suit your lifestyle.  IMPORTANT: Consult your Doctor!

24.For the hair: use SHAMPOO(based on your hair type) everyday and  partnered it with a conditioner because it really helps soften the hair.  NOTE: apply more conditioner on the tip of your hair.

25.You can also use Aloe Vera and Coconut Oil to make you hair strong, black and healthy.

26.Cologne/Perfume would be a plus for every person’s purse/bag.

27.Please do use Deodorants especially for those who have that stinky smells.

28.If you’re tummy(stomach area) is big, I think you have some serious problems.  DO SIT-UP EVERYDAY!  If you’ll do that for 1 straight year, I guarantee you’ll get the desirable tummy you wanted.  And of course don’t forget to watch what your eating and drinking.

29.Try to exercise: 30 minutes per day.  If busy, do it during weekends.  Exercise is a must.

30.To sum-up, don’t forget to take a bath everyday, brush your teeth and put some nice and comfortable clothes on.

I made those lists because I want to share to the people what I’ve learned in my area of interest which happened to be the Beauty World.  I know this would be a great help to some who doesn’t know how to take charge of their physical beauty that God gave to them.

For me, it’s not expensive to become attractive.  Just believe in yourself, live a clean life and don’t forget to wear that winsome smile.  Life is too short, be beautiful!

From Medina to the World

There’s a saying that goes, “There’s no point of living if you can’t feel alive.” And for me, to be alive you have to have a dream or I would say dreams that would serve as inspirations to keep going…

Dream Car: Rolls Royce(i want to feel like royalty, hehehe!)

Dream Shoes: Louis Vuitton sneakers(it’s my thing!)

Dream ‘IT’ thing: Nikon Prof Camera(for my photo shoots)

Dream House: Green Mansion by the beach(i’m a beach bum!)

Dream Date with a Hollywood actor/s: Tom Cruise, Brandon Routh, Jonathan Bennett, Adam Garcia and Keanu Reeves

Dream Date with a local male celebrities: Borgy Manotoc(SMOOOKIN!), Marc Nelson and William Devaughn

Dream chitchat with a famous people: Fernando Zobel de Ayala, OPRAH and Sharmaine Ruffa Gutierrez

Dream Island/s vacation: Maldives, Seychelles and the Caribbean

And my ultimate dream is to travel with my family and friends around the world and go from place to place, to place, to place. Like I want to go to Paris, France because it’s the most romantic place on the planet and I want to go to United States of America because it’s a dream of every Filipino like me. As you can see, I aimed so high but I think there’s nothing wrong with that. As they say, “To Dream is Free.” Libre po ang mangarap, yun nga lang sana magkatotoo someday.

The Journey… Wawi’s Style!

June 18th, 2006 by charmose
I began to travel the world when my mom gave birth to me in this marvelous and opulent planet called earth.  It’s been tiring yet very rewarding journey.  I have my family who loved me so dearly and friends who always give colors into my dying innermost being.  Wawi is the name people comfortably call me.  I am the eldest of three siblings.  My brother and sister asked me what made me stay in our town for a long time with no work.  I should’ve started a new chapter in my life where I can be a great and productive person I always dreamed of where I can work in a big corporation and earn big bucks.  It’s so hard to explain to those individuals whose minds are being magnetized by city life, ambitions and modernization.  But sometimes in our life, we really need to choose between our wants and needs.  And I just realized that I have to move on and start to take charge of my own life in order to fulfill my dreams.
In my spare time, I go to the beach and be the person I want to be.  My friends and I like to discover new places to hang-out.  I also play badminton and chess.  On the lighter side, I’m an internet addict.  I spent hours and money just to be online.  I love to surf, chat, listen to music and discover interesting websites.  If I’m not busy, I do read books and any kinds of magazines, watch television, exercise and I dance to the tune of pop and latin music.  I am a very happy person.  And I want to touch the life of every human being.  Happiness is very important in a person’s heart.
I am not a perfect person and there’s no perfect in this world either but I believed that God gave me enough skills and abilities to be used for my future endeavors.  I am a very hardworking person.  In fact, after I graduated from college I used to work in our small merchandise store and helped my mom in managing our business.  I’m quite good also in leadership skills.  During my college years, I was once a KKP-FFP volunteer in our school.  I volunteered to teach children in rural areas and assisted some of the teachers in FFP classes at the university.  In the program, we helped in forming students to be a person with purpose.  I always believed and it’s very clear to me from the start that I’m here not only to live but to share what I have to the people who need it.  As a human being, all I can say is that, “I am the sum of all my experience.”  Whether it is good or bad, it is still an experience and that made me the person who I am right now.  No matter what people say, I’m still God’s unique creation.  And by that fact, I need to be loved, cared, respected and treated fairly for I am a miracle.
